ODENWALD BLAUE
Another excellent "find", this time from the Odenwald region of Germany. It's a very attractive, floury potato which cooks rapidly and which has to be steamed
rather than boiled. It has dark blue skins and off-white flesh with a very faint blue ring under the skin.
The flavour and cooking properties remind me very much of MANDEL (q.v.). The colour of the skins is largely
retained on cooking. In containers I saw no flowers. Yield about 1.5 lbs in a 3 gallon container.
The haulms are short and this one grows well in pots. Blight resistance: about 5.
