Nicolas Jackson
Radio Plays

Nicolas Jackson is a director and producer of audiodrama and documentaries for Spanish broadcasters and BBC Radio. He has produced 500+ programmes for Spanish national stations and about 60 audio dramas for the BBC (Radio 4, Radio 3 and World Service). He also works as a translator, voiceover artist, and scriptwriter, often for Spanish-related projects like the documentary "Real Madrid: Until the End" on Apple TV.

BBC Work: Nicolas's work for the BBC includes series and single dramas for R3 and R4, such as the psychological thriller series Spores, the dramatisation of Hermann Hesse's novel Siddhartha, and the award-winning R3 drama Jump Blue, about the free diver Natalia Molchanova's final dive.

International Work: As a producer and presenter, he has created hundreds of programs for Spain's Radio 3, Radio Clasica, and Radio Exterior.

Production Company: He is a director at Afonica, an independent audio production company producing plays and other programmes for various broadcasters.

Nicolas's productions have received significant industry recognition, with his work winning many awards.

    Playwright April de Angelis tells the dramatic story of pioneering women’s theatre company Monstrous Regiment, 50 years on from its creation. In the 1970's, the newly founded Women's Liberation Movement rocked the world. But British theatre was still a largely male preserve. Actresses found themselves in less prominent roles. The Beast (La Bestia) is the name given to the freight trains frequently used by Latin American migrants to cross Mexico in an attempt to reach the American border. Most are escaping violence and poverty in countries like Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador. Every year it's estimated that up to 500,000 migrants risk their lives atop The Beast. Along the way, they are exposed to attack by gangs, corrupt officials, killer bees and the constant threat of falling from the train and being crushed on the tracks. Many die along the route.
