Potatoes - Mr. Bresee
American potato; raised by Mr. Albert Bresee of Vermont. c1870. Waxy, salad type potato. Second early with attractive appearance.
Bresee is famous for his variety 'Early Rose', which James Clark crossed with Paterson's Victoria to produce "Magnum Bonum", "Epicure", and others.
I am grateful to Chris Hitchcock and William Whitehead for permission to photograph this sample, which was on display at Painswick Rococo Gardens during October 2008.
