An apple originally from California, bred by Albert Etter.
It's a dessert apple, similar in size and shape to Bramley; possibly dual purpose. The flavour is less acidic than Bramley; very concentrated, like Pink Pearl, but with a background flavour of lemon / citrus with faint overtones of fresh herbs. There is a good balance of moderate sweetness and low acidity.
It is picked quite late (late Oct), and keeps until well after Christmas.
The blossom is pretty, and it flowers at a similar time to Tom Putt and Devonshire Quarrenden, which puts it in Orangepippin's flowering group 1 - 2.
