G.F.Handel (1-19): The Aylesford Pieces, for harpsichord
Frederic Chopin (20-21): Two Rarities: Waltz in Eb and Contredanse in Gb
F. Techelmann (22): Suite no 5 for harpsichord
P.D.Paradies: (23-24): Sonata no. 8
Mathias van Gheyn (25-30): Divertimento no. 1 in F
Alessandro Scarlatti (31): Toccata no. 10
Handel's 'Aylesford Pieces' is from a collection of harpsichord music
in private hands until the 1920s. It is well-
suited to the piano. The Chopin pieces have
only recently become available, through
IMSLP. The Paradies sonata is from his set
of 12, published in 1754. Techelmann's suite
is clear and well-crafted; van Gheyn's
divertimento is a delightful set of pieces in
light baroque / classical style. The Alessandro
Scarlatti races along and one wonders why he
is not better-known.
