PLAY SERIES THE SYBIL THORNDIKE FESTIVAL (1967-68) I was asked to arrange this as a tribute to the great actress. She chose six favourite plays in which to star. They were: ST. JOAN, by Bernard Shaw. Dame Sybil was joined by Alan Wheatley, Clive Morton, Michael Spice, Ian McKellan. JANE CLEGG, by St. John Ervine THE DISTAFF SIDE, by John Van Druten. This also featured Lydia Sherwood & Grizelda Hervey. A PASSAGE TO INDIA, by E.M.Forster. This also starred Jill Balcon, Carleton Hobbs, Zia Mohyeddin, Frank Duncan, Garard Green. CAPTAIN BRASSBOUND'S CONVERSION, by Bernard Shaw. It also starred Cecil Parker, Gabriel Woolf and John Justin. THE FOOLISH GENTLEWOMAN, by Margery Sharp. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE FLORA ROBSON FESTIVAL
BONAVENTURE by Charlotte Hastings. This also featured Monica Grey and Dorothy Holmes-Gore

Almost the whole canon of the Holmes short stories was dramatised by Michael and Mollie Hardwicke. It starred Carleton Hobbs as Holmes and Norman Shelley as Dr. Watson.
