University Radio York
Radio Drama
Stephen Shaw

Drama from University Radio York.

This was the first legal independant UK radio station (1968). It currently broadcasts on medium wave in the York (England) area on 1350 kHz but only during University term time, 24 hours a day.

The dates given below are the headline date of the podcast which was usually the broadcast date but on some of the dates the station was off air and the content was presumably broadcast on some other date. Where a broadcast date is known a broadcast time is also listed.

Online archived schedules (2004 to date - format: https://ury.org.uk/schedule/2009/w9/) indicate some long periods with NO output at all from the "speech" programme department, which during those lengthy periods may have lacked any student volunteer support. Some drama is listed with no content details and there is a suggestion that drama was included in other generic undetailed strands.

Friday, 14 Dec 2012 - URY Christmas Panto 2012 - Rumplestiltskin
It's here! By popular demand, the podcast of this year's University Radio York Christmas Panto - Starring Karl Kennedy (or as some people call him, Alan Fletcher) is now available. We left it up to our listeners to vote for what story they wanted us to adapt this year- and they chose Cool Runnings. We, however, decided a panto based on Cool Runnings would be stupid. And quite possibly racist. So we did Rumplestiltskin instead. So sit back with a Mince Pie and some Mulled Wine and enjoy the URY Christmas Panto 2012. Starring: Alan Fletcher, Rachael Venables, Ben Bason, Harry Whittaker, Andrew Durant, Tom Edwards, Kirsty Rogers, Karl Bos, William Chalk, Charles Lewis, Ellie Wright, Rory Foster, Jay Glover, Helen Marrison and John Wakefield Written By: James Bugg, Ellie Wright, Ben Bason, William Chalk, Charles Lewis, Meg Roberts, Karl Bos and Bex Elson
