I'm including this here because although it;s not red-fleshed, it's a seedling of the red-fleshed Malus Geneva. The original seedling was grown by Reinhard Schomberg-Klee.
The blossom is attractive but lighter than some redfleshed blossom, fading to pale pink after about a week.
The fruit is unusual; egg-shaped, with yellow flesh and red skin, and a hint of pink flesh around the core. The wood is red stained, like a genuine redfleshed apple, and the foliage has a red cast to it for most of the season.A real mix-up of genes.
The flavour of the apple is bitter-sweet, though less bitter and less sweet than a bittersweet cider apple. It is ok as a cider ingredient but not really edible unless cooked. The acid content is low but the tannin is high.
It appears to have a columnar growth habit, but more trees need to be grown to confirm this.
