Lizzie Hopley is an actor and playwright. She was born in Liverpool
and trained at RADA.
Her first play, The Cenci Family, was produced for BBC Radio 4 and
was nominated for a Sony Award. Her writing for the stage includes
'Perseus,' which toured Canada and New Zealand, and 'Pramface,' which
was staged in London in August 2005.

THE ELIZABETHAN BEAUTY LAW....2005
R4, 09 December 05, Afternoon Play. London, 1587. The Embellishment
Law ruled that any woman trapping a man into marriage through
self-adornment could be tried as a witch. Florence Whitsheet becomes
the test case after her new husband removes her carefully constructed
clothes on her wedding night. With Annette Badland, Amanda Root, Alan
Cox and John Rowe. Directed by Lu Kemp.

Elizabethan Beauty Law, which imagines how a law passed by
Elizabeth I, against women trapping men into marriage by embellishing
their natural looks, might work out in real life. This was by Lizzie
