English Apples - D'Arcy Spice
Pick late October; keeps for a while (say 4 weeks or so) in excellent condition. Similarities with
Ribston: rich, aromatic, flattish apple, green to yellow-green. Citrus-type sharpness to the flavour, but
not unpleasantly so. Discovered 1785. My tree has gone biennial. No fruit at all in the "off" years. Will keep in reasonable condition until about mid-Jan.
